A reel shot on location with a script, editing and subtitles costs between $120,000 and $350,000 COP per piece in Medellín in 2026, depending on who makes it and what is included. At D3lab Creativo a reel is $150,000 COP and drops to $120,000 when we produce 12 or more per month. A full monthly plan with carousels, static posts and a shooting day runs from $770,000 to $1,980,000 COP.
That is the short answer. What follows is what almost nobody explains when they quote you: what sits behind each number, and why two reels at the same price can be worth very different things.
What a properly priced reel includes
When someone quotes "a reel", ask about these six things. If two or more are missing, the cheap price will cost you.
Script. Someone decided what will be said, how it opens and how it closes. Without a script, a reel is a pretty recording of someone improvising.
On-location shooting. The crew comes to your business with camera, light and microphone. Footage shot on the owner's phone in the office shows, and the audience notices first.
Editing. Cuts, pacing, licensed music, on-screen text and cover. This is where most production time goes.
Subtitles. Most reels are watched on mute. A reel without subtitles is half a reel.
Caption and hashtags. The text that goes with the post and the keywords that help people find it. Yes, Instagram and TikTok have SEO too.
Revision rounds. How many times you can ask for changes without being charged again. At D3lab, two per piece.
The three price ranges you will find
Freelancer with a phone: $60,000 to $120,000 COP per reel. Works to get started if you already know what to say. The risk is consistency: the month the freelancer lands a better job, you are left without content.
Small production studio: $120,000 to $250,000 COP per reel. This is D3lab's range. It includes monthly strategy, professional shooting, editing and data. It is the point where content starts working instead of merely existing.
Large agency: $250,000 to $500,000 COP per reel, almost always inside a monthly fee of several million pesos. You pay for the agency's structure: account executive, creative director, community manager. Sometimes worth it; often the person shooting and editing is the same freelancer from the first range.
Why the per-piece price is misleading
Comparing reels by unit price is like comparing restaurants by the price of rice. What matters is the monthly cost of content that works, and three variables hide inside the unit price.
The first is the shooting day. If the reel is cheap but each reel requires a visit, travel and crew time get paid elsewhere. At D3lab the whole month is shot in one or two sessions of up to four hours, at $50,000 COP each, so eight reels come out of a single morning.
The second is the volume discount. Shooting 12 reels in two sessions costs less per piece than shooting 4 in one, because setup time is spread out. That is why the reel drops to $120,000 from 12 pieces.
The third is what you do not see: the segment research, the content pillars and the format testing. It does not appear as a line on the quote, but it is what separates a month of content that sells from a month of content that decorates.
What a full monthly plan costs
These are D3lab's 2026 plans, in Colombian pesos:
Basic Plan, $770,000/month. Four reels, one carousel, one static post and one shooting day. Six pieces. The minimum for a brand to look active without looking abandoned.
Intermediate Plan, $1,505,000/month. Eight reels, three carousels, one post and one shooting day. Twelve pieces. The plan most chosen by businesses that have already sold through social media and want rhythm.
Pro Plan, $1,980,000/month. Twelve reels at volume rate, five carousels, two posts and two shooting days. Nineteen pieces. For brands competing in categories where whoever shows up most, wins.
If none of them fits, the online quote builder lets you assemble the exact combination and see the total in real time, no meeting required.
What to ask yourself before hiring
Not how many reels you can afford, but how many you can sustain. A business that publishes eight reels one month and none for the next two ends up worse off than one that publishes four every month for a year. The algorithm rewards consistency, and so does the audience.
And a second question: who will be on camera? If it is you, the real cost includes your time. That is why we concentrate shooting into one session: so that making content does not cost you the business.
Frequently asked questions
Does the price include publishing? Plans include the piece ready to post with caption and hashtags. Posting to your accounts can be done by you or by us, as agreed.
Do you charge VAT? D3lab Creativo currently operates as a sole proprietor. Published prices are the prices to pay; any change is stated in the formal proposal.
Do you work outside Medellín? Yes. Outside Medellín and its metropolitan area the client covers the crew's travel expenses.
Is there a minimum term? Plans are monthly. We recommend at least three months because format testing needs time, but nobody is locked in.
